Does well even in poor soils, drought tolerant, low maintenance, makes for a lovely cottage garden border. Loves full sun. To one metre tall. Lengthy history as medicinal plant and essential oil. Employed predominantly for regulation of the menstrual cycle and symptoms of menopause. Also helpful for soothing digestion, calming nerves and alleviating stress and anxiety, being a mild sedative. Used for flavouring in foods and wines and as an aroma in perfumes and soaps. Leaves and flowers both edible.
